yesterday was also the day of the big iron chef style cookoff between wasim karen, tim and i. tim basically cooked everything so not only did he win, but we all won cause it was so damned good.
feb 8th was terry's bday. fucking every fag i know is born in feb. anyhow... as u might have read from =http://paintedbat.tblog.com/ target=_newthe_painted_bat's blog, we all went bowling. COSMIC bowling nonetheless. i have some pics but i put them up on this site called flickr which is kinda neat. check it out and try to leave a note on a photo, it's kinda kew.

it was on feb the 20th but the party took place on feb 19th here at mine and tim's place. it was prolly the first big house party i've had and tho not everyone invited showed up, there was still a lot of ppl crowded in here. it was totally fun and no i couldn't hang out with everyone but i could look over and see ppl i like having a good time and smile to myself. it's a good feeling. it's also good when people leave their beer and coolers cause then tim and i have something to drink for the next few weeks. one of the coolest presents i've ever gotten: a $300 futureshop gift card. i want so much and it's so hard to decide!!! the mini ipods just went down in price so as soon as FS has them back in stock that's what i'll get, with credit to spare! YESSSSSSSSSSSSS!

uhm.. what else... oh yes, tim and i have aquired a cat. it's my family cat and my mom can no longer house her, so we have taken her into our home. she is kind of a fatty, was very grumpy at first and cost me a lot at the vet. she is now on a diet and on some drugs for an infection. now that she is happier, she is friendlier and therefore much cuter. here is a pic of her.

it's been since january and so much has happened since then.. like we had a fun party for joyce where we made california styled sushi for the first time and it was such a fun night and they turned out so good (and easy to make) and we played that scene it game again which was wicked fun, especially since tim and i won!!! we rock.

now for my holiday review.
xmas at my folks was fun. pat (vegetarian) volunteered himself to make a turkey, and it turned out really good! we had a pretty traditional north american xmas meal, right down to the pumpkin pie and egg nog (my new obsession). it was a good night and the pressies were opened at midnight, which is how we chileans do it.

christmas day i spent with wasim at his new place, it's not bad and i'm glad he moved out of co-op. we had a good nostalgic brunch at the red room (only place we found open) and then a good memorable dinner at zelda's, featuring a xmas dinner special and a drag queen.
boxing day went out with wasim again to scope out the boxing day specials. there wasn't really much and it was mostly annoying but i did manage to find a cheap good wireless adapter for tim's laptop. rock on.

i rewrote this blog cause i can't write but sometimes i try.
last weekend my sister threw a bday party for her man pat, so we trudged to pickering to celebrate. pat has a nice xbox network setup thing and i'm rightly jealous. i wanna be able to watch avi's and play mp3's on my tv. and has anyone played karaoke revolutions on the xbox? it's very cool... you choose a song and it shows u the notes/lyrics u need to sing into the mic and it scores you depending on how u sing. if u suck you get boo'd off the stage and if u rock (like me) then the crowd goes nuts and you glow and shit, har har. does anyone know what would be the easiest/cheapest way to watch avi's off my puter on my tv?
so i basically worked thru the week until friday which was mike and christina's (upstairs ppl) xmas gathering. we met a few of the neighbours and basically just had a good time chatting and eating and such. the ppl to our left are nice, they promised to have us over sometime. yay socialicing!
on saturday terry karen tim and i went over to julia and kevin's for an early xmas party and surprised =http://www.tblog.com/template... target=_newkaren (pics there) with a bday cake. afterwards, we headed to peter's for a later xmas party. played cranium with a larger (gloomy) crowd, and it was pretty fun, especially when all the straight people left, lol.
sunday was the stars concert at the mod club.. it was a cold night and the opening band was so so. stars were really good live, when 10 ppl came on stage, i knew it was gonna be a good show, every sound on the album was played live, as opposed to it all being done by a keyboard. they had a trumpetist, a tromboner (teehee), a celloist, a violinist, a keyboardist, a drummer, 2 guitars, bass and the singer. it was so fun, amy was very cute with her singing and dancing, and torq was pretty cool too with his brit suit and facial expressions. joyce gave me a ride home and my parents were here for a quick holiday gathering b4 tim goes to winnipeg. tim made some awesome soup and lil mini quiches, we played jenga which my dad loved. all in all, had a great weekend.

i guess the most exciting thing to happen since, was ster's big fat greek wedding yesterday. what a loooooong day, but all in all it was a great and beautiful experience. it was very exciting to see the cd's she was giving away at the reception, cause i designed the labels. i'm very much in monomania mode right now.
speaking of which, ray's book [b]anthropy[/b] is now out apparently.. i'm not sure where i can get it, but i wanna see it cause i had a hand in the cover design. i can't wait to see how it all turned out.
so, tim and i just got back from gaby's where we went for vegetarian thanksgiving dinner.. i thought i was really gonna miss turkey, but i didn't. the food was good and i had a good time overall.
now for some local news.. apparently [b]matt sharp[/b] (ex-bassist from weezer) is gonna be at the horseshoe on wednesday, so i'm gonna try and catch that. also on the 23, [b]the organ [/b]and [b]controller.controller [/b]will be there so i'm gonna try and catch that. coming up in november, [b]lali puna [/b]at lee's palace, and [b]badly drawn boy[/b] at the phoenix. who knew toronto had such a great concert scene.
recently i've seen a lot of blogs, some are really corporate yet still personal, some are ugly, some are pretty, some are imaginative. but when it comes down to it, as long as the person has something interesting to say, it's all good.
i, on the other hand, NEVER have anything interesting to say, so as it is, this is just a way for my 2 friends to keep track of the banality of my life.
there was a fun party at stef's where i improvised some itunes wizardry to make a decent playlist, mingled with some dogs, tried to keep wasim from burning everyone and accidentally peed on myself.
...so it would seem that the futility of it all hasn't stopped me from ending this bloginess. believe me, i have thought about it. i think i'll keep thinking. or perhaps just not fool myself that this is something that it isn't, which it isn't, if that makes sense...
i believe i threw my first very own party ever, the theme being "only people from work invited" which was basically a result of me deeming my space too small for anything bigger. mikedg brought 5 people that were not of the "people from work" persuasion but that's ok cause they were all cute.
one thing i've leard from throwing a party: it is hard to be a host because you're constantly worried that everyone is having a good time. however, when u are high/drunk (hypothetically speaking), it is altogether harder to make sure that this is the case no matter how wholeheartedly you wish it to be so.
i had a great time.
the next day was not a good day for me. i spent all day in bed recovering for the old 97's concert. thankfully i made it. thankfully the crowd was all white trash. thankfully some extremely drunk and fucking huge guy decided the best place to stand was right on front of rhoda and i. thankfully when we moved he decided that in front of where we moved was slightly more convenient. i spat my gum at his shoes. i sure hope he stepped all over it! that's right, i told you.
Monday evening my dad took my mom to the hospital because she was having crazy abdominal pains. In the meantime, Tim was sleeping, I was going for a run and the world just spun on its axis (of evil, lol)
Tuesday I went and visited her and she was in great pain. We were not sure what it was but we hoped for the best. We later found out it was just her appendix and they promptly took it out and now she's recovering.
So it's been a crazy week and I've lost all sense of time and memory. I'm sure life will catch up to me soon. On the plus side I got to see my parents and my sister and pat and some other people who visited my mom.
Just because I said I would blog it, Den, Pat and I were in the elevator when someone approached it and it began to close. Pat went for the door-open button and jabbed at it as the door closed and the person was left behind to the realization that Pat was pressing the door close button and i continue to type in all lack of punctuation and grammar because my sentence is running on like me on monday night when I ran to high park station and proceeded to run home when 7 minutes later somehow ended up back at high park station much to my chagrin and that of my tired legs and lungs and the embarrasment and annoyance of having to run extra what I had planned or something to that effect.
screw u all, stop reading this crap.
also, my knee hurt sometime last week and so did my bum, but no, not because of that u sicko's.

well this week, connie (the new girl) switched a shift with me so that i didn't hafta open after a close. awesome.
ster wants to film a short vid for her marriage. she wants to film a bit at indigo cause that's where john and her met, and i think it'll be corny/cute. yesterday she talked to mark about trying to get permission so now we're just waiting. in the meantime!!! we met up after work and hung out for a few hours here at my place. i was so happy to hang with her, it had been oh so long and i hope we get to hang again soon. so in the evening was mikew's partay. mostly everyone was there when we got there and the party was afoot in no time. i love that most of us are artists and/or designers.. i had the idea that we should all work together and create a company. mike already has his own company but he ends up working alone most of the time. i should mention how amazed i was by mike's work. i didn't know he was a painter, and so good at it. i want to commission a painting just to have something awesome to put up on my wall.
ppl at work are just so awesome (mostly). we have a bond because we all hate indigo and we're all hoping for something better. rhoda announced that she already told tracy she was leaving us in september, and we're all saddened by this but we'll keep in touch and hopefully she'll send me a link of the hot high/drunken pics from last night. hahaha.
i spoke to ray today and i got excited about print, and i know now that i need to learn about print because i know next to nothing about it. we talked about his book cover a bit, my design went thru to the end, tho it was changed a slight bit and cropped... but it is there nonetheless and i can't wait to see it in print. we are talking about making some posters of my original design because we liked it so much. here's a thumbnail of the original and the final RESPECTIVELY:
there's a few other projects i'm gonna start doing soon; ster wants me to design a label for her wedding cds that she's gonna give out and the idea is simple enuff it shouldn't take much time. a friend also needs help with a website and hopefully it won't be too involved. i also wanna help my cousin with a website. hell knows i need the practice.
so today i went to ikea with jan and wasim. it was fun, we didn't do the meatball thing and it was really busy but it was fun. i bought a new kilby bookshelf, some soda glasses, and ice cream scoop, an ice cube thing and some scissors. jan bought a light lantern ball thing and the same ice cube thing. wasim bought a bedside table, some tealights and a lamp. we had hotdogs and went home.

it's been 2 weeks... nothing much is new.. well nothing i've done really. worked, hung out with some people, had people over.
on wednesday i had lunch with tim his sis and mom at salad king; the upstairs part is called linda, and it's a more classier version than downstairs, the food was great, but i'd go back for the quick lunch downstairs.
saturday my sister had her engagement party (yes, pat propsed in mexico!!!) and i got to see some family i hadn't seen in a while, it was great. corina's calzones rotos were a hit!
sunday i had brunch with tim and his parents and it was pretty nice. i guess they don't hate me or anything.
tomorrow i hear from jan, who's in town, and i hope to be spending some good quality time with her... her parent's place is near here so that should make things easier.
this was supposed to be more informational and exciting, but whenever i think that, it never is.

shit, i got woken up this morning by my manager, calling 10 minutes after i was supposed to be at work saying "why arent you at work" and i'm like "i thought i had today off", u know i figure that after working 5 days in a row i should get 2 days off, but i guess they don't see it that way.
ANYhow, i got there at like 11ish and left at 530, fuck that i'm not gonna stay longer, besides, i had invited lorette over for dinner. so other than the fact that i opened and marlene closed (which is exciting already), i got my new glasses and i got some hair dye and i met the new person in kids (for about 5 seconds before they took her away to be cash trained).
spent the rest of the night eating dinner and chatting with tim and lorette and then chatting with my sis who just got back from mexico. she had some rather exciting news.
